Ruth A. Jasko (nee Burner), 63, of Brownhelm Township, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Mercy Regional Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born May 8, 1962, in North Olmsted, Ohio, and had resided in Brownhelm Twp. for the past 38 years, previously living in Avon and Avon Lake.
Ruth devoted much of her life to caring for others. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Kendal at Oberlin and also served her community as secretary for the Brownhelm Township Board of Zoning Appeals.
A woman deeply committed to family and community, Ruth was a member of St. Mary Catholic Parish in Vermilion. In her younger years, she was actively involved as a Cub Scout leader, 4-H, and a coach with the Firelands Dance Team. She especially enjoyed working alongside her husband restoring their century home, tending to the gardens and landscaping, and she had a special love for her pets.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, John P..Jasko Jr. of Brownhelm Township; her son, Ryan (Julia) Jasko of Cincinnati; her daughter, Brittany (Chris) Nemeth of Wellington; her father, Raymond H. Burner; her cherished grandchildren, Isabella Jasko and Jace Nemeth; and her brothers, Raymond S. Burner and Ronald K. Burner.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Rachel (nee Holmes) Burner.
A private celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at a later date. Private inurnment will take place at Rugby cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Ohio Division Inc., 10501 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44106.
