Ruth Marie Jones

Ruth Marie Jones (nee Lahmers ), 91, of Lorain, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain following a brief illness Ruth was born June 14, 1926 in Dover, OH. She had lived in Lorain for the past 17 years moving from Vermilion. Ruth retired from Bettcher Industries where she worked in the engineering department drafting and preparing drawings. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Vermilion and was a lifetime member of the Vermilion Business and Professional Women's Club. She also worked at the Salvation Army as a coordinator and organized the volunteers and enjoyed traveling. She is survived by her sons, Douglas (Cheryl) Jones of Troy, OH and Christopher (Lee Ann) Jones of Columbia Station, OH; granddaughters, Sarah Jones and Samantha (Cody) Bookner; great-grandchildren, Alina Jones, Lorelei, Dietrich, and Oliver Bookner. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Jones; parents, Mervin and Helen (nee Harvey) Lahmers; and a sister, JoAnn. The family will receive friends from 3-7 pm on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, October 9, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. The Reverend Ron Brickner will officiate. Interment will be at 2 pm at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
