Sandra Brillhart

Sandra L. Brillhart (née Gayneau), 84, formerly of Fairview Park, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024, at Mill Manor Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

Born on April 13, 1940, in Cleveland, OH, Sandra had been a resident of the Lorain area for the past six years, having relocated from Fairview Park.

Sandra dedicated 15 years of her life as a nurse at the Cuyahoga County Jail before retiring in 1984. She was passionate about helping others, shown through her volunteer work with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Sandra also enjoyed knitting, traveling, and painting. She had a deep love for animals, especially her dogs.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Daniel) Taylor of Amherst; her grandchildren, Calley (Josh) Lewis, Gabrielle (Ryan) Weddell, and Jacob Taylor; and her great-grandchildren, Lexi, Kinley, Elaina, James, and MacKenzie.

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Brillhart, in 2014; her son, Richard Gaw; her daughter, Eva Gaw and her parents, William and Harriet (nee Kolesar) Gayneau.

Private graveside services will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park.
