Sandra Kaye Simpson

Sandra Kaye Simpson (nee Thomas), 84, of Vermilion, died Monday, October 11, 2021 at Admiral's Pointe Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was born May 22, 1937 in Ernest, PA and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 44 years moving from Amherst. Sandra worked for St. Joseph Hospital as a RN for over 30 years and retired as a nurse supervisor in 1990. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and crocheting. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Kenneth "Kapt'n Kenny" Blair Simpson of Vermilion; daughters, Tacie Canterbury of Huron and Karen (Kyle) Spradley of Arlington, TX; son, Todd Simpson of Houston, TX; grandchildren: Justin, Ryan,Jackson, Hannah, and Tatum; and great-grandson, Trey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson and Helen (nee Engle) Thomas, brother, Bernard Thomas; and his daughter-in-law, Kristi Simpson. Private interment will take place at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst. The family suggests memorial contributions to Alzheimer's Association 37309 Harvest Drive, Avon, OH 44011 .
