Savannah Kaylynn Ortiz

Savannah Kaylynn Ortiz, 15, of Vermilion, died Monday, January 23, 2012 at Rainbow Babies and Children Hospital after a short illness. Savannah was born July 20, 1996 in Elyria. She had been a Vermilion resident for the past 4 years moving from Lorain. Savannah attended Vermilion High School where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed drawing, writing, singing, reading, and being with her friends. She is survived by her guardians, uncle and aunt, Chris (Crystal ) Carter of Vermilion; brother, Cody Ortiz of Vermilion; mother, Rebecca Carpenter, Cleveland; cousins, Logan Carpenter and Samantha Carter; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jerry and Regina Carter. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 10:00 am until the time of services at 1:30 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Reverend Josh Budka will officiate. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain..
