Scharla L Hollinger

Scharla L Hollinger (nee Crump), 64, of Norwalk, went home to be with the Lord Friday, June 12, 2015 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky after a lengthy illness. Scharla was born July 29, 1950 in Littlefield, TX and grew up in Levelland, TX. She had been a Norwalk resident for the past 10 months, moving from Lubbock, TX. Scharla worked as a Church Secretary for several different Churches. She had also worked in Human Resources for DayCo. Products, Dayton, OH. As a teenager Scharla felt God calling her to be a pastor's wife and followed that calling by faithfully serving as a Sunday School teacher for children, church pianist, which permitted her to display her genuine passion and love for gospel music and singing, and many other ministries along side her pastor husband. She had an infectious loving smile that brought out the best in those she met. She truly lived out her favorite Bible verse, Proverbs 17:17 "A friend loves at all times". Scharla inherited her mother's love for baking and many people were blessed by her wonderful pies and Christmas candy. She loved seeking God's nature and enjoyed driving through the fields of Texas Bluebonnets, seeing the beauty of Niagara Falls, and loved the New England Shoreline. Scharla was a faithful follower of Christ. She prayed daily for her children and grandchildren who she loved greatly. She is survived by her husband, of 45 truly wonderful years, Rev. Andrew Hollinger; son, Jon (Misty) Hollinger of Menomonie, WI; daughter, Michelle Gonzales of Vernon, TX; grandchildren: Alex Hernandez, April, Matthew, and Micaiah Laureles, and Logan and Addisyn Hollinger; great-grandson, Jaxon Hernandez; and brother, Larry (Laura) Crump of Fredericksburg, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, William D. and Opal (nee Hyder) Crump. Scharla was a member of Firelands Baptist Church, 12320 St. Rt. 113, Wakeman, OH 44889, were there will be a memorial service on Monday, June 15, 2015 at 11:00 am.. The Rev.
