Sharron Gettens

Sharron M. Gettens (nee Stafford), 77, of Vermilion, died Monday, October 30, 2017 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born March 24, 1940 in Ubly, MI and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 41 years, moving from Cleveland. Sharron had worked at various places including St. Vincent Hospital, Cleveland, Inn at Chapel Creek, Vermilion, and the Vermilion Farm Market. She was a past member of St. Peters Catholic Church, Cleveland and the Eastern Stars. She enjoyed cooking, and spending time with her family and her dog China. She is survived by her daughter, Bonita (Jeff) Amenda of Decatur, IL; sons, James Gettens of Vermilion, Patrick (Jean) Gettens of Bay Village, and Michael Gettens of Vermilion; grandchildren: Jennifer, Jamie, Jessica, Katie, Kevin, Sean, and Kenneth; and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Gettens in 2001; parents, Carl W. and Lucille (nee Wilson) Stafford; and her sister, Sandra Ambuehl.
