Shelby Brown

Shelby Jean Brown (nee Jennings), 68, of Vermilion, died Sunday, May 7, 2023 at her home after a lengthy illness.

She was born June 12, 1954 in Bluefield, WV and had been an Ohio resident for the past 48 years.

Shelby worked as a nurses assistant for 15 years, but dedicated her life to being with her family whom she adored.

She is survived by her sons, David Brown, Jr. of Lorain, Larry (Michelle) Brown, Sr. of Vermilion and Roger (Shelley) Brown of Castalia; daughter, Connie (Dugan) Childrey of Brook Park, OH; 19 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Melissa (Mike) Miller of Princeton, WV, Nancy Jennings McCowan of Princeton, WV and Donna (Mike) Bennett of Wolfe, WV; and brothers, Terry (Samantha) Jennings of Wolfe, WV, Billy Jennings of VA and Charles Jennings of NC.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, David G. Brown, Sr.; parents, William and Annie (nee Hash) Jennings; sister, Carol Smith and Jo-Ann Stanley; and her brothers, Jackie Jennings, Steve Hash, and Thomas Jennings.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 6:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
