Shirley A. Kudela

Shirley A. Kudela (nee Szekely), 82, of Vermilion, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Kingston of Vermilion following a brief illness. Shirley was born December 24, 1934 in Vermilion and had lived here all her life. She was a member of St. Mary Church in Vermilion. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, all animals, and especially loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Philip Kudela of Vermilion; children, Debi (Pete) Stanford of Goshen, Christine (Dan Nash) Good of Lorain, David (Mary Mayer) Good of Vermilion, and Keith Good of Vermilion; grandchildren, April, Gene, DJ, and Sierra; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, Joseph Szekely and Jim (Mary) Szekely; step brothers, Bud and Jim Kryling; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Albert Good, Jr.; parents, Joseph and Helen Stella (nee Sender) Szekely; step father, Sylvie Kryling; and step sister, Jeanette. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 3 to 7 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Funeral service will be on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 10 am at the funeral home. The Reverend Robert Sanson will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
