Sophie Petrosky

Sophie J. Petrosky, 91, of Lorain, died Saturday, February 7, 2015, at Anchor Lodge. Sophie was born September 14, 1923 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain resident. Sophie worked for US Steel as a Brakeman for 35 years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church and its Altar & Rosary Society as well as the Paduan Travelers of Lorain. She is survived by many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Josephine (nee Wladecki) Pietrowski; and 10 siblings. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 9, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. at the Dombrowski-Riddle Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1939 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, with a Rosary Service by the Altar & Rosary Society at 5:30 pm. Prayers will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 418 W. 15th St., Lorain. Father Bob Glepko will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. The family suggests memorial contributions to Anchor Lodge, 3756 West Erie Ave., Lorain, OH 44053.
