Stacy J. Janik (née Lozinski), 92, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Mill Manor Nursing Home following a brief illness.
Born on June 19, 1932, in Bislozorka, Krzemieniec, Wolyen, Poland. During the early stages of World War II, Stacy was taken from Russia by nuns and with other displaced children to travel around the world to come to the United States. She was a beloved Vermilion resident for the past 61 years, having previously lived in Buffalo, New York. For 20 years, Stacy worked as a receptionist at Wayne Cleaners in Lorain, where her warm demeanor and kind smile left a lasting impression on those she encountered.
A devoted member of St. Mary Catholic Parish in Vermilion, Stacy lived her life with faith and compassion. She found joy in reading, gardening, baking, cooking, and embroidery, and she took great pride in creating a warm and welcoming home. One of her most defining characteristics was her love of all animals and especially her beloved birds. Above all, Stacy cherished her family, especially treasuring time spent with her grandchildren, cousins and niece and nephews.
She is survived by her daughter, Annette (Douglas) Bartlome of Vermilion; her son, Paul (Cathy) Janik of Columbus; her grandchildren, Hannah Bartlome, Sarah Bartlome, and Oliver Janik; her beloved niece Christine Consiglero, nephews Stan Przybylowicz and Andrew Przybylowicz and second cousins, Maria, Stasia, Pete, and Anna as well as dear family friend Karen Aavik.
Stacy was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Joseph Janik, in 2013; her parents, Karl and Helena (née Centkiewicz) Lozinski; her brother, Walter Lozinski; and her sister, Olga Przybylowicz.
Private family services will be held to honor Stacy’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions to St. Mary Catholic Parish, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, OH 44089.
