Stella Cyrek

Stella Cyrek (nee Giermek), 87, of Lorain, died Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at New Life Hospice of St. Joseph, Lorain . Stella was born May 3, 1926 in Buffalo, NY. She had been a Lorain resident since 1958 and moved to Vermilion 1962. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion and the Catholic Church of St. Peter, Lorain. She enjoyed playing Bingo, watching the Cleveland Indians, her grandchildren and great grandchildren and her dogs, Bailey and Maddie. She is survived by her sons, Edward J. (Linda) Cyrek Jr. of Vermilion and John E. (Cindy) Cyrek of Vermilion; daughters, Nancy (Rick) Hector of Vermilion, Linda Boyd of Vermilion, and Sharon Cyrek of Lorain; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Viola Lipinski of Buffalo, NY, a brother, Joe Giermek of Buffalo, NY and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Cyrek, Mar 25, 1997, her parents, Stephan and Anna (nee Bulek) Giermek; brother and sisters; grandchildren, Dori Lynn Boyd and Joe Cyrek and her son-in-law, Dan Boyd. The family will receive friends on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Father Craig Hovanec will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
