Stephany G. Kurowski

Stephany G. Kurowski (nee Tesarek ), 92, of Lorain, passed away Monday, July 22, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Lorain October 30, 1920. In being the prototypical Grandma, Stephany smiled through each day with only kind words to say to everyone she came in contact with. Complaints were not in her vocabulary and she wished no ill will upon others. She lived 92 1/2 years in Lorain, OH and that's an accomplishment in and of itself. She had 63 years of marriage to John Kurowski before he passed away in 2004. She was very devoted to her church, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and showed up there her entire life. She was past president of Nativity School P.T.A., and a member of the Polish Club. She enjoyed ceramics, cooking, baking, looking at the lake, sitting on her front porch, and going to Bob Evans. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Stephany is survived by her daughter Marie "Toni" Newbert of Lorain; grandchildren Peter John "P.J." Newbert of Lorain, and Jaclyn (Jeremie Allen) Newbert of Mansfield. Along with her husband she was preceded in death by her parents Anthony and Emilia (nee Kolenkiewicz) Tesarek, and sisters Ann Mailowski, Bernice Higgins, Edith Krakowski, Cecelia Rakich, and Veronica Pesti. Visitation will be Thursday, July 25th from 4-8 P.M. at Dombrowski-Riddle Funeral Home & Cremation Center 1939 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Prayers will be said at the funeral home Friday at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church 418 W. 15th St., Lorain. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Contributions in Stephany's memory may be given to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.
