Steven Wayne Allen, 48, of Joliet, Illinois, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007 after a sudden illness. He was born on June 24, 1959 in Eldorado, Illinois and has been a resident of Joliet, Rockdale, Lockport, Illinois for the majority of his life. He worked as a driver for the Speedway Auto Parts,Joliet and has previously tended bar at Dealers Choice in Crest Hill, IL. He was employed by UOP in Mokena, IL for 18 years. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, and was a member of dart and pool leagues. He also enjoyed hunting and boating. Survivors include his mother, Helen (nee Durbin) Combs of Vermilion; sisters, Brenda Combs of Vermilion, and Tena Wallace of Toney, AL; step sisters, Martha Austin of Carmi, IL, Linda Rogers of Vermilion, and Cecial Porter of Equality, IL; step-brothers: Larry Hammond of Eldorado, IL, Jack Combs of Carmi, IL, and Warren Combs of Dewitt, IL, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Curtis and Mary Ann Allen and step-father, Ray Combs. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 5:00 pm at Tezak Funeral Home 1211 Plainfield Rd. Joliet, IL Friends may call Thursday, July 5, 2007 from 9 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 10 a.m. at the Church of Christ, 5116 Driftwood Drive, Vermilion. Mark Weaver, pastor, will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
