Steven Barry

Steven Barry, 72, of Wellington, died Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Hospice of Medina County after a lengthy illness.

He was born October 26, 1950 in Bellevue, OH and had been a Wellington resident for the past 23 years moving from Oberlin.

Steven was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Steven worked as a Writer for Wellington Enterprise, a security guard at FAA and retired as a Patient Transporter for Life Care in 2012.

He was a member of the Harvest Network International. He enjoyed bird watching, waterfowl hunting, hiking, and working on his boat. He enjoyed writing and wrote biographical stories about family and the military.

He is survived by his wife, Madonna Barry of Wellington; son, Daniel Barry of Toledo; daughter, Hannah Barry of Wellington; mother, Alice (nee Schmidt) Barry; brother, Noel (Kandy) Barry of Toledo;  sister-in-law, Christine Barry of Wakeman; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Barry and his  brother, Ronald Barry.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.  Funeral services will be Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Riddle Funeral Home. The Reverend Lee Stull will officiate.  Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery,  where the military honors will be held.
