Sunshine Garner (nee Mick), 94, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Mill Manor Care Center, Vermilion after a short illness. Born March 24, 1916 in Promise Land, AR, she had been a Vermilion resident for the past 52 years moving from Missouri. Sunshine was a member of the First Baptist Church, Vermilion where she had been active with the JOY Class. She enjoyed cooking and embroidery. Survivors include her son, James Luther (Carol) Garner of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Connie Jay (Gregory) Goldcamp of Columbus; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; brother, Jerry Mick of Jefferson City, MO; and sister, Emma Lou Fitzgerald of Blytheville, AR. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Luther Garner in 1970, parents, Joseph U. and Maude (nee McGaughy) Mick; son, Joseph Marion Garner, daughters, Patricia Ann Leonberger, Sandra Lou Namath and Lelia Montez Brixie; brothers, Walker Mick and John H Mick; and sister, Beatrice Mick. Friends may call Friday, Nov. 5, 2010 from 6-8 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church, 6716 West River Rd. Vermilion. The Reverend Donald Resecker will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery Vermilion. The family suggests memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church, 6716 West River Rd. Vermilion.
