Susan R. Smith, 62, of Vermilion, died Saturday, May 8, 2010 at her home after a 6 month illness. She was born August 1, 1947 in Elyria and had been a Vermilion resident since 1978 moving from Lorain. She had worked at Lithonia Down Lighting in Vermilion for 12 years. She had also worked at Ritter Public Library and Flat Rock Home Care Facility. She attended Grace United Methodist Church, Vermilion and enjoyed quilting, cross stitch, knitting, her dogs, swimming and baking. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Paul "P.J." Smith; son, Rodney (Julie) Fisher of Huron, daughter, Melinda Fisher of Vermilion; grandchildren, Nicholas, Allison, Ronnie, Brittany, and Paul; and her brother, Raymond Wilson of Wellington. Preceding her in death were her parents, Raymond and Dorothy (nee Linden) Wilson. Friends may call Monday, May 10, 2010 at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home. The Reverend Lee Stull will officiate. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
