Thelma Grace Marquart (nee Winkler), 90 of Vermilion , died Sunday, November 2, 2008 at her home. She was born October 1, 1918 in Union Township, Ohio and lived in Vermilion from 1942-1951 and again from 1979 to the present. She had also lived in Findlay. Before marriage, she worked at the Boss Glove Manufacturing Company in Findlay. For many years, she also worked with new mothers and their babies in their homes. She volunteered at Community Health Partners, Old Jibbs Corner and at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church in Vermilion. She is survived by her husband, Luther Sylvester Marquart, whom she married on August 26, 1939; daughters, Phyllis Jean Marquart of New Orleans, Louisiana, Patricia Ann Libbey of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Kathryn Louise Weber of Lake Forest, California; one grandchild and one great-grandchild. Preceding her in death were her parents, Lloyd and Maude (nee Flick) Winkler, brothers, Theil and Wallace Winkler and sister, Alberta Fagan. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 from 7:30 pm-8:30 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Visitation will continue on Thursday at 10:00 am until the time of service at 11 am at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 15617 Mason Road, Vermilion. Reverend Dr. Karl Fry will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 15617 Mason Road, PO Box 323, Vermilion, Ohio 44089.
