Theresa Skapin

Theresa B. "Tess" Skapin (nee Simmer), 86 of Lorain, died Monday, February 5, 2007 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph following a lengthy illness. She was born December 4, 1920 in Lorain and has been a lifelong resident of the area. She graduated in 1939B from Lorain High School where she was a majorette. She was employed at the Elyria Lace Company, American Shipbuilding during the war and Fruehauf Trailer in the accounting department. She was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Elyria. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, crossword puzzles, knitting, traveling, needlepoint and watching football on TV. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Joseph Skapin of Lorain; brother, Alvin Simmer of Vermilion; nieces, Judy Herman and Lana Stadler; 4 grand-nieces and nephews. She was preceded-in-death by her parents, Stanley and Helen Simmer. Private services will be held. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
