Thomas P. Dlugos, 59, of Vermilion, died Thursday, November 27, 2008 at Community Health Partners West, Lorain. He was born May 22, 1949 in Lorain and was a life long resident of Vermilion. He worked as a construction worker for Erie Blacktop. He had been self employed at one time and had also worked for Kessler Excavating and the City of Vermilion Water Department. He was a member of the Laborers Union, Sandusky and enjoyed working on classic street rods, had enjoyed riding dirt bikes and traveling. He co-founded the Mill Hollow Lorain County Metro Parks Car Show. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Diane (nee Linhart); step-daughters, Juli (Dennis) Cook of Portland, Oregon, and Shelley Jones of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Tiffany Jones, Craig Snell, and Andre Cook; sisters, Nancy Forbush of Wellington, and Rita Hines of Wellington; brothers, Dale Dlugos of Las Vegas, and Timothy Dlugos of San Diego, CA and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Albert and Ruth (nee Lang) Dlugos. A memorial service will be held Monday, December 1, 2008 at 7 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion Wally Metter will officiate.
