Timothy John Campbell, age 75, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2024 at Kingston of Vermilion, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his family.
Born July 15, 1949, in Canton, OH, Tim lived a life full of adventure and dedication. He returned to Vermilion for his last 3 years after living in California and Texas.
Tim enjoyed a remarkable career as an independent over-the-road truck driver for over 40 years, serving various companies before retiring in 2009. His career allowed him to explore the country and fuel his love for the open road.
In his free time, Tim embraced a wide range of hobbies and talents. A licensed Ham Radio operator, he was an avid communicator who enjoyed connecting with people across the globe. Tim was also a martial arts enthusiast, earning a Black Belt in Karate, and a passionate motorcycle lover who especially cherished Harley-Davidsons. A skilled mechanic, Tim could often be found working on bikes and other projects, enjoying the satisfaction of fixing things with his hands.
Above all, Tim cherished his family. He is survived by his loving children, JoAnne Marie (Zachary) DeWitt of Clearwater, FL, Ian James Campbell of South Amherst, Jessica Louise Campbell of Vermilion, and Kimberley Ann (Luis) Amezcua of Portland, OR. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Cienna, Luie, Brooklyn, and Nico; his sister, Constance Jolicoeur of CA; and his half-sisters, Mary Summerfield and Brenda Amicarelli.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Campbell and Charlotte (nee Hertwig) Miller; his brother, Stephen Campbell; his sister, Diana Sirikul; his half-sister, Lori Mae Davis; and his step-sister, Kathleen Cross.
Tim’s family will honor his wishes with private services.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
