Vicky Dean Neal, 71, of Vermilion, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Vicky was born April 10, 1945 in Memphis, TN, and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 56 years moving from Earle, AR. Vicky worked for Lorain Ford Motor Company as a Upgrader and trim repair for 30 years retiring in 1996. He was a volunteer fireman for Station #2 in Vermilion and an EMT and paramedic in Vermilion, Wakeman, and Bellevue. He was the first paramedic in Vermilion. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Vermilion, took singing lessons, enjoyed fishing, going to the YMCA, painting ceramics, gardening, traveling, and spending time with his family near and far. Vicky loved taking care of people in need and was a loyal caretaker to his beloved mother, Lorene. He is survived by his daughters, Ruth (Robert) Yates and Annette (Jason) Focht; granddaughters, Crystal (Tyler) Matter, Brooke Yates, and Allie Focht; great-grandsons, Gabriel and Luke; brothers, Billy (Marjorie) Neal and Phillip (Debra) Neal, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Lorene (nee Fletcher) Neal, grandsons, Jared and Jackson Focht; and brothers, Leon and James Neal. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 4 to 8 pm the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be Monday, November 21, 2016 at 11 am at the funeral home. Pastor Cliff Morris will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
