Theresa "Violet" Adam (nee Jacobs), 96, of New London, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022 at her son's home after a lengthy illness.
She was born November 4, 1925 in Lorain, OH and had been a New London resident for the past 20 years moving from Vermilion.
Violet owned and operated Adams Grocery on Rt. 60 in Vermilion Twp. for over 30 years.
She was a past member of Broadway Assembly Church in Lorain and a member of Lakeview Baptist Church, Vermilion. She enjoyed cooking, especially making Hungarian Nut Rolls, and she loved animals. She also loved doing puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph Adam of New London, Ronald Jay Adam of New London, Donald (Sandra) Adam of Columbia Station and Danny Adam of Vermilion; daughter, Judy Ann Adam of Lorain; 7 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Adam in 2011; son, Samuel Adam; parents, James Joseph and Julia (nee Bartok) Jacobs; brothers, John, Jimmy, Alex, Robert and Andy Jacobs; and her sisters, Julia, Margaret, Betty, and Helen.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church, 591 Ferndale Ave, Vermilion, OH 44089 . Interment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
