Virgil K. Zicafoose, 80, of Vermilion, died Sunday, June 1, 2008 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born August 22, 1927 in Gladesville, WV and lived in the Lorain -Vermilion area the past 45 years. He worked at American Crucible, Lorain and retired in 1990. He attended Calvary Temple Church, Sandusky. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, vegetable and flower gardening and traveling on train and bus trips. Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Dorothy (nee Smith) of Vermilion; daughters, Linda (Kevin) Hartley of Hundred, WV and Barbara Eubank of Webster Springs, WV; sons, Virgil Lee (Cathy) Zicafoose of Temple, Arizona, Gerald (Lucy) Zicafoose of Las Vegas, NV ; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; step daughters, Kelly (Martin) Thorpe of Vermilion, and Lesley (Rodney) Fairman of DuBois, PA step son, Kevin Kirkwood of Willoughby; 5 step grandchildren; half brother, Jerry Massie of , WV; half sisters, Wilma Bolyen of WV and Margaret Isner of WV. Preceding him in death were his parents, his first wife, Flossie Mae Zicafoose in 1996; a granddaughter Traci Zicafoose; 6 brothers, and a step daughter, Cora Zimmerman.. Friends may call Tuesday, June 3, 2008 from 5-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home. Pastor David Snyder, pastor of the Calvary Temple Church, will officiate. Entombment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
