Virginia Isabel 'Ginny' Snell

Virginia (Ginny) Isabel Snell (nee Barnes), 85, of Vermilion, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness. Born November 12, 1925 in Elyria, Ohio to Dee Bee and Laura (Fiedler) Barnes. Virginia lived in Vermilion all of her life, attending Vermilion schools and Lorain Community College. She worked as a secretary for several businesses in Vermilion. She was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational, Vermilion. Ginny loved to read, play the piano, and she cherished family gatherings. She is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, James Snell; daughter, Stephanie (Steve) Rose of Columbus, sons, James Snell, Jr. of Vermilion and Daniel (Carol) Snell of Huron; grandchildren, James, (Terri) Snell III of Sandusky, Miranda ( Phil) Gammella of Brunswick, Craig Snell of Vermilion, Lindsey Rose of New York; great-granddaughter Katherine Snell and siblings, Maxine Raver of Vermilion, Delaures Hoffman of Arizona, Shirley Heimann of Lorain and Richard Barnes of Vermilion. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dee Bee and Laura Barnes and sister, Marjorie Hodgson. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion OH.
