Virginia Marie Vanbergen

Virginia Marie VanBergen (nee Pojman), 70, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Mercy New Life Hospice. Virginia was born February 12, 1947 in Parma and had been a 17 year resident of Vermilion moving from Westlake. She was an elementary school teacher in Mt. Healthy, OH, prior to raising her children . She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and enjoyed golfing, fishing and being a grandmother. Ginny is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert VanBergen, MD, of Vermilion; son, Robert Paul (Alison ) VanBergen of Downers Grove, IL, Paul (Lauren ) VanBergen of North Brook, IL, daughter, Sara (Chris ) DellaVella of Westlake; sisters, Mary Jane Rose of Brunswick and Lois Welch of Toledo and stepmother, Lorriane Pojman, of Baltimore MD. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary (nee Petkash) Pojman. The family will receive friends on Sunday July 23,2017 from 3pm-7pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Prayers will be said at the funeral home Monday July 24, 2017 at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Father Ron Brickner will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
