Vivian L Hamilton

Vivian L. Hamilton (née Shilling), 79, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

Born on December 16, 1945, in Columbus, Ohio, Vivian grew up in Vermilion and was a 1964 graduate of Vermilion High School. In 1984, she moved to Dexter, Ohio, before returning to her hometown in 2009.

A devoted homemaker, Vivian found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved reading, cross-stitching, working puzzles, playing cards and bingo, and watching the birds and squirrels she fed daily. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Jeff (Laurie) Hamilton and John “Rob” Hamilton, both of Vermilion; grandchildren, Brooke Hamilton, Brandon Hamilton, and John Hamilton; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Linda Francis of Vermilion; and sister-in-law, Sue Shilling of Mt. Sterling, OH.

Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; parents, Miles and Evelyn (née Nicholson) Shilling; her sister, Judy Larizza; and her brother, John Shilling.

Private burial will be held at White Oak Cemetery.
