Vivian Miller

Vivian Lucille Miller (née Wilson), 93, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at The Meadows at Osborn Park after a lengthy illness.

She was born on September 8, 1931, in Hendrysburg, OH and had been a life long Vermilion area resident.

Vivian began her career in education teaching in a one-room schoolhouse. She later served as the librarian at South Amherst High School and the Amherst Public Library, where she shared her love of learning and literature with generations of students and readers.

She was a devoted member of Brownhelm Congregational United Church of Christ and enjoyed the camaraderie of the Red Hat Society. Vivian also belonged to “The Dinner Club,” a cherished circle of friends who shared many memorable dinners and vacations together. In her free time, she loved golfing, traveling-especially to Florida and the Alabama coastline-and pursuing her passions for arts and crafts, books, flowers, and gardening.

Vivian is survived by her daughter, Lisa Miller Pickett of Huron; grandsons, Brandon, K.C., and Dietrich; great-granddaughter, Lilianna Rose Pickett; sister, Maryanne Rose; nephew and niece, Mike and Kelly Rose; nephew, Steve Wilson; and niece, Christy (Paul Clark) Goodnight.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mike Miller; son, Jeff Miller; her parents, Henry Wayne and Thelma Odessa (née Straight) Wilson; and her brother, John Wilson.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.  Interment will take place at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst at a later date.
