Walter P. Bobrowicz, 84, of Lorain, died Saturday, January 14, 2012, at his residence after a sudden illness. Walter was born January 12, 1928, in Sonman, PA, and had been a Lorain resident since 1953. Walter worked for Price Brothers, as a crane and core machine operator for 22 years. He then joined the Ohio State Liquor Control Board retiring from there in 1991. He was a trustee and past president for the Polish American Citizens Club. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Vermilion, and was life member of the Polish American Citizens Club and other ethnic organizations. He is survived by brothers, John (Gail) Bobrowicz of Ontario, Canada, and Leonard "Eddie" (Irene) Bobrowicz of NJ;step daughters, Katherine (Eugene) Bodkin of Berlin Heights, Ohio, Linda Hargrove of Richmond, Virginia and Beverly (Floyd) Martin of Wellington, Ohio; several grandchildren & great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene M. Bobrowicz in 1994; parents, Joseph & Mary (nee Saflarski) Bobrowicz; sister Josephine Machowski; step-sister Pauline Saflarski; brothers, Stanley Bobrowicz, and Joseph Bobrowicz; step daughter Judith Annis, step son Phillip "Butch" Martin. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 19, 2012 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion, Ohio. Prayers will be said at the funeral home Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. The Reverend Fr. Ronald Brickner will officiate.
