Walter E. Kuykendall, 84 of Vermilion, formerly of Youngstown, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009 in Community Health Partners in Lorain following a brief illness. He was born March 8, 1925 in Westernport, Maryland. He grew up in West Virginia and moved to Youngstown in 1957, where he lived until moving to Vermilion last year to be near his daughter. He served in the United States Navy. Walt worked as an overhead garage door installer for Omega Garage Door Company in Youngstown. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses - New Springfield and the Birmingham Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Ralph Malewski of Vermilion. He was preceded-in-death by his wife, Gladys (nee Rumer) Kuykendall in 1980 and parents, Robert and Gladys (nee Wilson) Kuykendall. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
