Walter L. Showman

Walter L. Showman Jr., 33, of Vermilion, died Monday, April 23, 2012 at his home after a sudden illness. He was born July 8, 1978 in Oberlin, and has been a life long Vermilion resident. Walter graduated from Vermilion High School and Ehove in 1997 and worked for Walmart in the lawn and garden department for the past 8 years. Walter enjoyed fishing, shooting guns, and spending time with his family, especially his daughter. He is survived by his parents, Ann (nee Hildebrandt) Anderson of Vermilion and Walter Showman Sr. of Birmingham; daughter, Lexi Showman; step-daughter, Cadence Taylor; sister, Andrea (Don) Metz of Vermilion; nieces, Faith and Allie; nephews: Chris, Nick, Alex, Austin, D.J., and A.J.; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Pamella Trottier in 1998; brother, John Anderson in 2008; paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Lillian Showman; maternal grandparents, Wilson and Barbara Hildebrandt; and niece Trinity Metz. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 12-2:00 pm and 4-6 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. Funeral services will be Friday, April 27, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 10 am at Rugby Cemetery North Ridge Road Vermilion.
