Weber Novella Gentry, 89, of Vermilion, died Monday, November 15, 2004, at her home after a lenghy illness. She was born September 13, 1915 in Tuscumbia, Alabama, and has lived in Vermilion since 1953. She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Vermilion and took care of the nursery and cleaned the church for many years. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, music and her family and grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters, Mildred Berryhill of Florence, AL , Sue Tallman of Monroeville, Judy Brock of Wakeman, Violet Brock of Lorain, Kay Gentry of Columbus; 2 sons, Edwin Gentry of Monroeville and Elton Gay Gentry of Vermilion; 38 grandchildren; more than 100 great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, Pink and Josephine (nee Husky) Daily ; her husband, Henry Gentry in 1991; 3 sons Carnell, L.D., and Tom Gentry; brothers William and Henry Daily, and 6 sisters, Ethel Hodge, Ester Hodge, Carrie Smith, Mary Henry, Susie Stringer, and Mildred Daily. Friends may call Wednesday, November 17, 2004, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Thursday, November 18, 2004 at 10 am. Josh Budka and the Reverend Donald Resecker, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Vermilion will co-officiate.
