Wilber W. Brammer, 87, of Vermilion, died Monday, March 19, 2012 at Ohio Veteran's Home after a lengthy illness. Wilber was born September 3, 1924 in Logan, WV and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 43 years moving from Ironton, OH. He was a veteran of the US Marines serving during World War II. Wilber worked as a Pipe Fitter for Ford Motor Co., Lorain for 18 years retiring in 1986. He had also worked for Allied Chemical in South Point, OH for 18 years. He was a member of Amvets Post #22, Vermilion and the UAW #425. He enjoyed watching football and baseball, and especially enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He is survived by his son, Brian Keith (Pam) Brammer of Bellevue, OH; grandson, Keith (Christy) Brammer of Wakeman; granddaughter, Melissa Brammer of Perrysburg; step grandchildren, Jacob Beckley, Torey Wybensinger, and Eli Beckley; 1 great grandchild; and 3 step great grandchildren He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary (nee Wilburn) Brammer in 2006; parents, Ephram and Grace (nee Bazell) Brammer; brothers: William, Walter, Woodrow, Vernon, and Glenn Brammer; and sisters, Fayetta, Mayetta Gleason and Emma Virginia Speed The family will receive friends on Friday, March 23, 2012 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. Graveside services will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery at 11:30 am. The Reverend Lee Stull will officiate. The Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
