Wilhelm 'Willi' Winnen

Wilhelm "Willi" Winnen,73, of Lorain, died Thursday, October 11, 2012 at his home after a short illness. Willi was born November 10, 1938 in Mulhofen, Germany and had been a Lorain resident for the past 51 years moving from Germany . Willi worked as a chemical operator for BF Goodrich, Avon Lake for 30 years retiring in 1996. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Lorain and the Knights of St. John. He enjoyed watching sports on tv, and playing cards with his friends. He also enjoyed spending time in the outdoors fishing and camping. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rosemary (nee Conrad) Winnen; son Michael Winnen of Lorain; daughter, Christa and her husband Lincoln Hoshino of Huntington Beach, CA; and grandchildren: Abby and Ally Winnen and Kurt Hoshino. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Veronica (nee Hann) Winnen; brother, Heni Winnen; and sisters, Tilly Lohre and Else Michels. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 3-8 pm at the Dombrowski - Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue Lorain Ohio. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 at 10:00 am followed by a 10:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 309 W. 8th Street, Lorain, OH 44052.
