William Travis 'Bill' Baker

William Travis "Bill" Baker, 60, of Vermilion, died Thursday, April 1, 2010 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a short illness. He was born May 14, 1949 in Memphis, TN. He grew up in Vermilion, had lived in Columbus and California before moving back to Vermilion 4 years ago. He worked in sales for Nordstrom Department Store and worked in computer design for Sprint designing commercial phone systems. He enjoyed the reading, outdoors, hiking, and camping. He loved the water, the company of his friends and was passionate about photography. Survivors include his sisters, Susan (James) Goodell of Vermilion and Elizabeth Ann Baker of Lorain; brother, Thomas Andy (Rita) Baker of Amherst, a niece and nephews Preceding him in death were his parents, Wilmer Travis and Mary Elizabeth (nee Stapleton). The family suggests memorial contributions to New Life Hospice, 5255 North Abbe Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035-1450 The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 from 4-7 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5434 South Street, Vermilion.
