William (Bill) Ball, 67, of Vermilion, went to be with our Lord on Monday, October 17, 2011 at his home after a lengthy illness. Bill was born December 28, 1943 in Branchland, WV and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 45 years moving from West Virginia. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Korea. Bill worked for Ford Motor Company,Lorain as a repairman for 32 years and then worked for US Steel, Lorain for 6 years as a security guard. He was a member of the First Assembly of God, Vermilion where he was very active, especially with music. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 397 and he enjoyed wood working, working in his yard, and making quilts. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Wilma "Kay" Ball; daughter, Lisa Farley of Huron; son, Kent (Sandy) Ball of Vermilion; grandsons, Nicholas, Kenny, Matthew, and Jareth Ball; granddaughter, Dara Ball; and brothers, James Ball of WV, Jerry Ball of Texas, Bobby Ball of WV, Cline Ball, of WV and Sam Ball of WV. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Mary (nee Tabor) Ball and a sister, Janice Coleman. The family will celebrate his life on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 from 6-8 pm at the First Assembly of God Church, 4931 Southview Ct., Vermilion, OH. Friends may also call Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 10 until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am at the First Assembly of God Church. Rev. Michael Levelle will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery Vermilion where the Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors.
