William Cherniss

William "Bill" Cherniss, 77, of Vermilion, passed peacefully in the home of his sister on Wednesday, December 29, 2021. He was born April 9, 1944 in Cleveland and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 6 years moving from Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Bill had various jobs throughout his life including his favorite, taking care of the cars in the Imperial Palace car collection. He loved watching old tv shows, especially Bonanza and the Andy Griffith Show. He also enjoyed playing video poker and BINGO. He is survived by his brothers, Robert (Gail) Cherniss of Spencerport, NY and James Cherniss of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Jo-Anna (David) Kikel of Green Valley, AZ and Cathy (Timothy, deceased) Smith of Vermillion, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Kathrine (nee Barber) Cherniss and his brother, Thomas Cherniss. No services are planned at this time.
