William “Bill” Oglesby Clark V, 80, of Vermilion passed away April 9, 2026 at his home surrounded by family following a brief illness.
He was born March 14, 1946 in Lorain, OH, and was raised in Vermilion. He graduated from Vermilion High School in 1964, and Bowling Green State University in 1968. He lived in Washington D.C., New York City, Oklahoma, and Oregon before settling back in Northeast Ohio in 1982, splitting his time between Vermilion and Kirtland. He was a veteran of the Navy and worked in IT for 45 years, retiring in 2013.
Bill was loyal, dependable, and driven by a deep sense of responsibility. He enjoyed golfing, riding his Harley, listening to classic rock, captaining his Lyman, and supporting his daughters and granddaughters in their activities. He was a member of Vermilion United Church of Christ, and held lifetime memberships to Vermilion AMVETS Post #22, the American Legion Post #397, and Vermilion Fish and Game. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending winters in Florida and traveling throughout Europe. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family.
Bill is survived by his wife Linda (nee Janoch); daughters Jamie, Brittin (Bob) Barkley, Kristin (Derek) Kujat, Katie, Jenny, and Jackie; granddaughters Brooke and Bridget Barkley, and Olivia, Avery, and Evelyn Kujat; and brothers Tim, Mitch, and Jon. He is preceded in death by his parents William Oglesby Clark IV and Lucile (nee Hull), and his cousin Bucky Clark.
Bill will receive Military Honors in a private service at Maple Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made in his name to Vermilion Fish and Game, mailed to 13617 Thompson Rd., Vermilion, OH 44089.
