William D. Brown

William D. Brown, 60 of Vermilion, died Monday, June 4, 2007 in the Veterans Hospital, Cleveland after a lengthy illness. He was born January 27, 1947 in Borgman, WV and has been a Vermilion area resident for the past 34 years moving from Kingwood, WV. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during 1971 to 1977. He worked as a Shop Supervisor for E&L Transport, Lorain and Cassens Transport, Sheffield. He enjoyed drag racing, working on cars, and watching Football, especially the Pittsburg Steelers. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Barbara (nee Blevins) Brown; daughters, Jennifer Brown-Carroll of Florence Twp, and Julie Brown of Vermilion; son, W. Joseph Brown of Chicago, IL; 4 grandchildren; brother, Robert Brown of Amherst; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Robert and Pauline (nee Parker) Brown, and brother, Steve Brown. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 7, 2007 at 11 am at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South St. Vermilion, OH 44089 with Matthew Humphrey, life celebrant, will officiate and Military honors will conducted by Vermilion Veterans Council.
