William M Edwards

William M. Edwards, 78, of Vermilion, died Monday, June 30, 2025 at Firelands Regional Medical Center Main Campus after a lengthy illness.

He was born January 7, 1947 in Cabell County, WV and had been a Vermilion resident for over 40 years.

William was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Following his military service, William worked at Ford Automotive Co as an assembler for over 20 years.

William loved hunting, riding his motorcycle and spending time with family and singing Karaoke. He was a member of AMVETS Post 22, VFW and was part of the honor guard.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Barbara Keating;  daughter, Sandy (Darrell Murphy) Edwards of TN, son, James Edwards of Elyria, OH, grandchildren, James (Sarah) Butcher, Crystal (Chris) Carroll, Matt Edwards, Brayan Edwards, and AJ Edwards; great grandchildren, Colt, Corra, Levi, and Lucia, his sisters, Judy (Steve) Kisner, and  Loretta; special friend, Marvin and special aunt, Becky Edwards.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Opal (nee Meddings) Edwards; and his son, Mark Edwards; sister, Carol White; brother, David Edwards and infant brother, Thomas B. Edwards.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 5, 2025, from 2:00 pm until the time of service at 5:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Interment will be on Monday, July 7, 2025 at Culloden Cemetery, Culloden, WV.
