William F. Peters, aged 80, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at his son's residence, following a valiant battle with cancer.
Born on October 12, 1943, in Parma, OH, William had been a cherished resident of Vermilion for 73 years, having relocated from Parma.
William was a proud graduate of Vermilion High School, class of 1961. He dedicated over three decades of his career to ITT Brass, which later became Lithonia Lighting, where he served as a supervisor until his retirement in 1996.
His passion for cars led him to spend countless hours restoring and painting them in his Lake Rd. garage. He delighted in showcasing his beloved 1957 gold metal flake Ford at car shows and relished weekends boating and visiting Put-in-Bay with his best friend, Fred. Cruising in his 1979 Vette with his granddaughter, Mimi, brought him immense joy. His grandchildren, Mason and Mimi, were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
William is survived by his son, Chad (Telly) Peters of Berlin Heights, his brother Tim Peters of Palm Harbor, FL, his sister, Pat "Sis" Peters of Vermilion (alongside her companion, Dave), and his grandchildren, Mason and Mimi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ethel (nee Kraus) Peters, and his sister-in-law, Iris.
Private family services will be held, and in lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Mercy New Life Hospice, 3500 Kolbe Road, Lorain, OH 44053. Condolences may be shared online at www.riddlefuneralhome.com.
