Website and Photojounral William G. Hardman, 86, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain. He was born February 6, 1921 in Akron and had lived in Strongsville before moving to Vermilion in 1993. For many years he had a cottage at Harmans Harbor, Vermilion. He attended Bowling Green State University before serving in the United States Army during World War II. As a sergeant he served in the South Pacific. He retired as a general foreman for the General Motors Tank Plant in Cleveland. He was a life member of the VFW Post 7576, the American Legion Post 397 and AMVETS Post 22, Vermilion. He enjoyed playing golf and had scored 2 Holes-In-One. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Marilyn B. Hardman, (nee Bliss); son, William W. Hardman of Akron; 2 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; best friends, Tom and Kathleen Gardner, Jack Sheehan of Fairview Park; Jerry and June Holliday of Atlantic, Iowa (formerly of Brookpark) and his best buddy, Benji. Preceding him in death were his parents, Russell E. and Inez (nee Wilhelm) Hardman. Services are private. Riddle Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
