William R. Lyons

William R. Lyons, 82 of Parkersburg WV, died Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born November 28, 1923 in Parkersburg, WV, moving to Cleveland in 1959 and returning back to Parkersburg in 1985. He was a veteran of the US Navy. He worked as a painter for New York Central (Conrail) Railroad, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Freedom Free Will Baptist Church in Parkersburg, WV. Mr. Lyons enjoyed fishing camping, bowling, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Paula (nee Balser) of Parkersburg, WV; 4 sons: William C. Lyons of Vermilion, Dan S. Lyons of Vermilion, Edward A. Lyons of Vermilion, and James M. Lyons at home; 2 daughters: Charlotte Terry of Vermilion, Margaret L. Frey of Belpre OH, step-daughter Jessica Balser of Parkersburg, WV, 25 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren; 5 great- great-grandchildren; brother Charles Lyons of Mentor on the Lake OH; and 2 sisters, Mary Brundage of Painesville, and Martha Wyatt of Parkersburg, WV. Preceding him in death were his first wife, Evelyn (nee Ault) Lyons in 1984, parents, Dan S. and Margaret (nee Miller) Lyons. Private services will be held.
