William H. O'Malley

June 19, 1931 — April 27, 2007

William Harold O'Malley, 75 of Vermilion, died unexpectedly on Friday, April 27, 2007. He was born June 19, 1931 in Cleveland and has lived in Vermilion for the past 26 years, formerly of Rocky River. He was a successful food broker for over 40 years. He owned Needham O'Malley Inc. in Rocky River. He served in the Naval Reserves, was a 25 year member of the Vermilion Boat Club, a member of the Vermilion Yacht Club, Avon Oaks Country Club and St. Mary Catholic Church in Vermilion. Known by many and friends to everyone, he will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his Irish heritage and the friendships he had built and maintained throughout his lifetime. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Karen (nee Falzine) O'Malley; daughter, Nancy (Scott) Veley of Rocky River; sons, William D. (Mary Beth) O'Malley of Novelty and Daniel W. O'Malley of Rocky River; grandchildren, Sarah Veley, Billy O'Malley and Bridget O'Malley. Preceding him in death were his parents, Charles and Pauline (nee Tomec) O'Malley and twin brother, Robert O'Malley. Friends may call Monday, April 30, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Closing prayers will be said at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at 10:00 am followed by a 10:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion. The Reverend Jim Holmer, pastor, will be the celebrant. Private burial services will be in Lakewood Park Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, Ohio 44089.
