Wilma Rose George Goldstein

Wilma R. George Goldstein (nee Monsour), 85, of Vermilion, died Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Anchor Lodge Retirement Village after a 3 year illness. She was born July 26, 1922 in Louisville, KY, and had lived in Vermilion since 1990. She had been a resident of Sheffield Lake from 1959 - 1990 and had also lived in Lorain. She had been in the restaurant business for 45 years. She worked as manager of the Brown Hotel in Louisville, then managed Heilman's Restaurant in Lorain for 12 years and opened Heilman's Beachcomber Restaurant in Clearwater, FL . She was owner of the Sherwood Inn in Lorain from 1962 - 1990. Survivors include her son, Dennis (Kathy) George of Vermilion ; 2 granddaughters, Kelly Baker and Jodi Reed; 4 great grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Logsdon of Louisville, KY and a brother, David Monsour of Austin, IN. Preceding her in death were her parents, Taft and Katharine Monsour; her 1st husband, Mike George, 1961; 2nd husband, George Goldstein in 1998; sisters, Rose Mello and Lillian Muffet. . A funeral service will be held at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Tuesday, Sept.25, 2007 at 11 a.m.. Father Jim Holmer will officiate.
