Wilma E. Tedford (nee Rackley ), age 90, of Vermilion, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at her residence after a full life. Wilma was born February 11, 1924 in Union County , MS. She had been a Vermilion area resident since 1958 moving from Memphis, TN. Wilma was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and watching the Cleveland Indians. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church where she taught Sunday preschool for over 40 years. Wilma cared for her family like the woman in Proverbs 31. She is survived by sons Larry P. (Eugenia) Tedford, and James R. (Kim) Tedford both of Vermilion; daughters, Martha (Richard) Weaver of Vermilion, Donna (Dennis) Grella of Medina, and Rujeana (Jeff) Wenrick of Piqua, OH; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters Ruby Bevil of Pontotoc, MS, and Kellene (Bill) Brewster of McAlester, OK.; sisters-in-law Jean (Fred) Strange of Tupelo, MS, and Ann (Jack) Martin of Athens, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband Noah Nelson Tedford who died on July 29, 1998, grandson PFC Devin Grella who died on Sept 6, 2004 while serving his country in Iraq, and parents William Earl and Dollye (nee Clifton) Rackley. The family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 30th from 6-8 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South St., Vermilion. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church where the family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Reverend Cliff Morris will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
