Yolanda M. Savina

Yolanda M. Savina (nee Balogh), 84 of Lorain, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at home surrounded by her family, following a lengthy illness. She was born August 12, 1925 in Lorain where she has been a lifelong resident. Yolanda graduated from the Lorain High School class of 1944B and was a life member of the Hungarian United Church of Christ, Lorain. She enjoyed cooking, baking, arts and crafts, ceramics, flower gardening, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Steven Savina of Lorain; daughter, Nancy Savina of Vero Beach, Florida, daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jean and John Sislow of Lorain; and granddaughters, Amy Savina, Amanda Sislow and Olivia Sislow. She was proceeded-in-death by her husband, Ralph Savina in 1984 and parents, John and Mary (nee Beres) Balogh. Friends may call Monday, Dec. 28, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home 1939 Oberlin Ave. Lorain, OH 44052 where there will be an 8 pm prayer service. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009 at 10:30 am at the Hungarian United Church of Christ 1691 E. 31st Street Lorain, OH 44055 with the Rev. Peter Toth officiating. Internment will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
